What Tarantino’s “Star Trek” Might Look Like

Tarantino Parody

Star Trek fans have been curious since it was announced that Quentin Tarantino will be directing a new film in the franchise.  What would the director of violent films such as Reservoir Dogs (1992), Django Unchained (2012), and The Hateful Eight (2015) do to the beloved series?  Now, Nerdist presents a short preview for how they imagine the new film will look.

The trailer features a narrator over scenes from the original series.  It also includes a guitar soundtrack that sounds right out of Pulp Fiction (1994).

In Nerdist’s imagination, the Tarantino film will feature Captain Kirk and the rest of the gang blazing their way through the universe with guns and punches. Do not want to cross this crew.

Check out the funny trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek: Voyage to Vengeance. “Set your phasers to thrill!”

As of now, the upcoming Star Trek film, which will be written by Mark L. Smith who wrote The Revenant (2015), does not have a release date.

New Honest Trailer for “The Princess Bride”

    Honest Trailer

The Honest Trailer series pokes fun at movies, and their latest target is The Princess Bride. The 1987 “romantic fantasy adventure comedy film” seems perfectly ripe for the sarcastic treatment.

Everybody loves The Princess Bride, although as the Honest Trailer notes, most probably never saw it in the movie theater. The film, which was directed by Rob Reiner, has become a classic of repeated viewings on VHS, DVD, cable, and through the Internet. I cannot even count how many times I have seen it.

So, sit back and enjoy a little fun being poked at The Princess Bride.

Billy on the Street Thanksgiving Parade

    Billy on the Street Thanksgiving

Billy Eichner of the truTV show Billy on the Street recently hosted his first-ever Thanksgiving Day parade. And what would be a Thanksgiving day parade without giant balloons, floats, and Katie Couric?

The segment does a nice job of parodying the cultural icons often selected for such parades. And every parade needs a giant Sean Penn balloon. Check out the funny video.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Batman vs. Superman, Old School

    Retro Batman Superman

Cinemash recently re-imagined the upcoming Batman versus Superman movie as being made with an old-school Superman (Christopher Reeve) and Batman (Adam West). While like everyone else I am eagerly anticipating Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, it would be pretty cool to see the full movie version of this trailer too.

It is also interesting to contemplate how dark our superhero movies have become in the recent decade and why. Seeing this trailer really highlights the differences from an earlier time. Check out the trailer for Batman v Superman (Retro Version).
